Past meets present


I've never been a big fan of green flowers, but I thought these looked stunning against the fabulous blue waters of the Mediterranean. I took this photo while walking around the impressive ruins of Ceasarea, a large port town built by Herod the Great and named for Augustus Ceasar.

"You got something to say?"


This handsome chap was taking a well-deserved nap when I came upon him with my camera; he clearly wasn't too thrilled but couldn't quite get the energy to really give me what for. As it was well over 100 degrees, who can blame him. His human, the owner of a beautiful pottery shop in Jaffa, wasn't too thrilled either--but that's because we were more interested in his dog than in his beautiful wares.

Olive branch in Jerusalem

Kissing trees

These lovely palm trees I shot in San Juan reminded me of that old couple in Greek mythology who, in thanks for a good deed, were turned into a tree so they could spend eternity together.
