Instead of laughing I would be screaming in hysteria- did you SEE Hitchcock's "The Birds"?
That is hysteria you're seeing...I was laughing though! They had lots of layers on as it was FREEZING, that helped allay some fears!
Is that Tippi Hedren in the background?
I bet lots of tourists do this, but I don't think I would like being surrounded by birds flapping around me.
I've had that experience!! That looks like Mark's Square in Venice. We backpacked through there, my hubby and me and our oldest son who was only 7 months at the time. My WW is a photo of him sleeping beside his littlest brother.

Ooooh, that might have scared me!! Pgeons are so much heavier than they look, aren't they?
Darling too scary for me, birds and I really don't get along!! After seeing the movie, The Birds, need I say more?
