Postless Wednesday (almost)

I was going to post this lone fisherman for either Wordless or Watery Wednesday, but the day just disappeared... I'm posting it now for posterity, and because I like this shot very much -- it's one of a few I've had enlarged and framed over the years. I took this photo in Tangiers; I was quite far away on a cliff. Never found it if he caught anything or, for that matter, what he was angling for.

That's a wonderful shot. I also love the one of yours on the skywatch home page today.

I loved your inspiring photo on the skywatch home page. I love your blog, I always enjoy looking at scenery from far away places, which I know I will never visit. Althrough I visited Hawaii in 1973, but never made it back. But, it is a vacation I will never forget. Thanks for sharing such lovely photos.

Thank you... now, what? My photo is on the skywatch home page? Must check it out--and put something up for Skywatch!

This is my first visit to your blog and I like your photos very much. Congratulations on being Today's Host at Skywatch. Gorgeous shot there.

May I make a suggestion to you that might improve your photos? In framing your subject, you might try putting your strong visual interest slightly to the left or right, not dead center. Your compositions of single subjects might have more dynamism that way. It's just a suggestion, of course, as perhaps you prefer it just the way it is! But if you haven't tried it, check it out.

Thanks Sara, so pleased you like my photos, and suggestions are always welcome! When I take a photo, I start with what grabbed my eye, then try left & right, then decide what I liked best. Here, it was the fisherman that drew me in (I love taking photos of people all alone), and I felt the water became the dominant feature I moved him left; if you move right, his pole goes out of the shot. Plus, I love the rocks & the moss, and the way the two come together to form a little basin.
